"world" is meant to be a comfort, something you know to be simple yet complex, and that you understand, yet don't. In this way, it is confusing, but we have come to terms with it as best we could by making up mythology to explain it and protecting ourselves from its harsh powers since the beginning of it. We have learned to adapt. But adapting is hard, you see, to do quickly. If you have entered a foreign and new universe to yourself, you cannot adapt as quickly as you might think. And I think that the greatest power a man will ever have in the face of danger is to adapt in the blink of an eye. Oh, how I wish this man could walk among us. How I wish that he was I.
