"We are merely stealing from a society in which has given nothing to us."

*********

Mary has never had any desire to get married, in fact she despises almost everything about marriage. In 1864 marriages among the upper class were still more of a business deal than about love and it is Mary's greatest fear that she will marry a gentleman who will take away her voice, as has happened to many women in her time.

Nearly a year after her coming of age ball she becomes engaged. They got along well and his wealth was more than enough to make her mother happy, but soon she realizes she was very wrong about his character. Her mother doesn't listen to her, saying that she is just being ungrateful. With no other option left she flees the Collins Estate with her ladies maid disguised as a servant.

In the safety of the forest Mary finally begins to feel what it is like to be free, only to bump into a group of bandits where the leader, Emmett Grey, decides to take them in.

Emmett is very weary of trusting anyone but Mary finds herself growing closer and closer to him. These bandits steal from the rich to get the things necessary for them to live and one day they travel back to her home. Will Mary's past be revealed?

THIS BOOK IS COMPLETED but it will be HEAVILY EDITED and have things added to it in the future. I wrote this book when I was much younger. I didn't expect it to reach this amount of popularity so I will devote my time to bettering it in the future. ------------------ Every year, in our village and the neighbouring villages, we encounter, on what is suppose to be the most divine and celebrated day of the year, a visit from the 'big bad wolf'. At least that's what the children call him. Adults like to call him "inhuman" or a "wild ravenous monster". However, the majority settle for "beast". No one knows why he ruins this specific day for us, the day we can celebrate our species: werewolves. Some despise him for taking this day from us and forcefully exchanging our merry and joyful laughs to screams of fear. When that specific day of the year approaches us, none of us are ever prepared for it. He always comes at night. We are told to lock our windows, draw our curtains and our doors. We are told to hide. There's one main rule that we have: don't look at him. Because if you do, no one knows what'll happen to you. Maybe that's the worse part, not knowing your fate. Not knowing the outcome of your foolish actions. If he comes roaming your streets, you have a right to be scared. Us "maidens" are always encouraged to hide ourselves the most, it's women that he supposedly wants more. However, I believe that that is a cautionary excuse. He'll take you, no matter how old or how young, no matter how innocent or how corrupt, no matter your gender, all it takes is a look. Either he looks at you, or you look at him, or you both exchange looks. Either way, his senses will pick you up, and you can't hide. It'll be too late. The amazing cover is by @-blackrogue. The amazing aesthetics in this book are by @mackreadsbooks24 Highest Rankings: 1st in #werewolflove 1st in #fierce 1st in #defiant 1st in #feminism 1st in #monster + many others

61 parts Complete Mature
"It was a mistake..." She told her mother, folding her hands into each other. "Marrying him..." Her mother said nothing, she simply sat there as her only daughter stood across from her, on the verge of collapsing from bruised ribs and cracked shins. "Mom." She wanted to reach out, softly tap her aging mother. Though that was the restriction of her life. The binding stereotype that she was gentle and slow to anger. In reality, what wanted to explode from her ribs was a scream of an animal, and the tears of repressed rage and fear. She wanted to throw her body onto the floor, but the thought made her damaged body ache more. There was no response from her mother. The deafening silence reminded her of her own quietness as her husband shouted at her, his fists bloody. He told her that she was only a tool for his amusement and a money-whore for her indigent family. She was nothing else but a tool for both parties. And she was starting to believe him. --------------------- Sarah Johnsen's life spirals from the normal gritty resilient fight to a serene wonderland. On the outside, she's married to a kind family with untold riches, but on the inside, her husband is the devil himself. Forcefully married at 18, Sarah was forced to kill her own dreams of becoming a doctor in order to bind her poor family to the rich bastards of Glendale by marrying their youngest; Oliver Grean. Their arrangement had the ability to brew the largest timespan of misery any of them has ever known. From lost toddlers to paid staged kidnappings, the binding of the two families, the Johnsen's and the Grean's created a mixture of chaos, confusion, sorrow, fear, grief, and dangerous rage. And there seems to be no haven to escape to. Or is there? ** Picks up where The Edge of Hell (Mitchell Brothers Series Book One) left off** If there's one thing Declan Mitchell learned from watching his mama almost die from the heartbreak of losing his daddy to a war nineteen years ago, it was that a great and powerful love delivered an equally devastating heartbreak and suffering-the kind he had every intention of avoiding like the bubonic plague. And until traveling west to Idaho Territory and coming face to face with the mismatch-eyed, auburn-haired beauty, Wren McCrawdon, he believed he might succeed in carrying out his plans of never marrying. Molded by her traumatic journey west when she was twelve, twenty-four-year-old, accident-prone Wren McCrawdon's life on her family's ranch in Falcon Ridge, Idaho, is full of back-breaking work, beginning as dawn's first rays peek across the mountains and ending long after the sun sets when she can barely drag her weary bones up the stairs to her bedroom. But from the morning Declan Mitchell and his family arrive, her miserable existence becomes more bearable until tragedy strikes when all she sees are the harsh realities of loss and suffering. Concerned for Wren's safety and remembering how bitter the edge of misery was after his daddy died-Declan discovers he's willing to do anything he can to take it away from her... even if it means a marriage of convenience is the only suitable solution. There are only two problems: first, it's already apparent he's following in his mama's footsteps toward eventual heartbreak, and second he somehow has to convince Wren to agree.
