When you turn 16, you're required to take a government test which determines your classification. There are 6 classifications one can get:
- LITTLE
-CAREGIVER
-NEUTRAL
-DOMINANT
-SUBMISSIVE

At 16, Ruffus expected to get neutral, so when he opened that envelope a week after he went for his testing, you can imagine his shock when he was classified as a LITTLE. He refused a caregiver, consistently.

At 18, he continued to stay stubborn. Despite his struggle in holding back his regression, and trying to be independent when regressed he only argued with everyone when they suggested he get a caregiver.
Eventually, his parents had enough. And they sent him off to Sunshine Academy.

An astute academy for littles and caregivers. It was one of the world's most popular, and most difficult to actually get enrolled in. Despite Ruffus' reluctance, he had no choice.

That's when he was introduced to Andrew Rhen. A 19 year old second year at the academy. A caregiver. He was stern, and certainly willing to try to change Ruffus' behaviour for the better.

Hayden is top of his class in school. He's smart, talented, and committed to making his parents proud. He hides every part of himself but his knowledge away in dark corners, keeping it invisible to everyone else. At night, when no one's watching, he drowns his stress in children's toys and cartoons, trying to keep his mind sharp for school. He hates himself for who he is behind closed doors, but he knows no better way to deal with his stress. During the day, he is a genius and his parents' greatest success. However, those titles come with very heavy burdens. He wonders how no one sees him, until one day, someone finally does. Felix is the exact opposite of Hayden: he makes bad grades, he doesn't care to impress anyone, and he's open about his feelings. That doesn't mean he's a happy person. He's been passed from foster home to foster home since he was four years old. No matter how well-behaved he tried to be, no one wanted him. He knew no comfort, but he taught himself how to offer comfort to others. He had no love to give, but he gave it anyway, served right off of silver platters. No one ever seemed to appreciate it, until he met someone who needed love just as much as he did.
