DANMACHI: DYING LIGHT

The story takes place in an alternate timeline of the DanMachi world.

In this reality, the Dark Age never came to Orario, as the Zeus and Hera Familia managed to survive their confrontation with the One-Eyed Black Dragon though they failed to defeat it.
Despite their weakness in that battle, and the great failure that emboldened their enemies, they nonetheless retained their position and influence.

However, fate was not kind to this world.

A widespread disease emerged from nowhere, spreading with lethal force and transforming its victims into horrific undead-creatures even more terrifying than the monsters of the Dungeon.

The nights are no longer safe...
The walking dead roam everywhere, nightmares that were once people, now turned into hunters seeking any living being they can find.

As the contamination spread, vast lands were devastated and countless civilizations were lost.
Many lives were taken, and this curse propagated across the entirety of Gekai.

When everyone believed this to be the end, a mysterious individual appeared someone with a deep understanding of the infection. Through his skills, he saved many lives, gathered people around him, and managed to preserve Orario from total destruction.

Yet in the end, just when many still needed him... he disappeared.

Now, Orario has become the last hope of all other races to build one of the final surviving societies in this world...
Marcus Caldwell, a wanderer from a distant land, decides to travel to Orario in search of a new life after the death of his father, unaware that this city stands at the frontline between people and decay.
