Part 1 - The Decision to Stay

After House's relapse with Vicodin, whom he took back in connection with Cuddy, she does not leave him, but decides to remain conscious. She realises that walking away does not solve anything, and suggests that we leave Princeton-Plainsboro together to dare a new beginning. With Rachel, they move to another city to distance themselves from old patterns. House begins a difficult but honest withdrawal and decides out of his own conviction for therapy. For the first time, he does not fight alone, but in a stable relationship.

Part 2 - Healing, Change and the Application

Over several years, House changes noticeably. He remains clean, becomes emotionally accessible and takes responsibility - as a partner and as a father figure for Rachel. The relationship with Cuddy is calmer, more equal and supported by trust. After he feels better in the long term, House Cuddy makes a simple, honest marriage proposal without pressure or drama. She says yes, and they marry in a small circle.

Part 3 - Years Later: The Happy Ending

Many years after the wedding, House and Cuddy live a quiet, stable life. House is still clean, in treatment and has made peace with himself. The family has grown together, Rachel is an adult, and the life together is characterised by closeness, trust and consistency. The happy ending does not consist of perfection, but of staying conscious and ageing together.
