Theodore Mayfield was just an average teenager who took a job in the castle to help his parents make ends meet. He never expected to be promoted to the prince's servant at nineteen, let alone become the king's servant two years later when the prince took the throne. Theo keeps his head down and works hard, ignoring the cruel gossip among the other servants. He has to, considering that very gossip questions if he got his promotion based on merit... or something more inappropriate. His Highness Jake Beaumont is a kind and just ruler. Across the kingdom, he is praised for solving issues swiftly and treating his servants and staff with respect. There isn't a soul who dislikes him. There is one matter, however, that leaves people questioning him. He has yet to choose a queen. The people assume he is taking his time, having grown up without a mother and perhaps not understanding the importance of a queen. But his reasons are quite different... and tied to someone no one would expect. A king should never desire his servant, and a servant should never dare to long for his king. That much is obvious. But some desires can only be kept inside for so long... and some rules are meant to be broken.

Take Me

"It was eerie even thinking about him after that day, knowing that it was all my fault that he was gone, that I'd lost him forever. Never again would I look into those beautiful blue eyes, or wake up beside him. I'd never have breakfast with him again, I'd never do anything with him again, because he was dead, and it was all my fault. I killed him." (1st book in the FM Trilogy)
