Protected and labeled innocent all his life, Leo Bennett is sick of it. Everyone around him treats him like a kid, even his friends. He has called plenty of boys cute before, but the moment he points out the tattooed boy across the hall, everyone panics. They tell him Seth Evans is bad news. That he smokes, beats people up, and ruins peoples' lives. All of it? Rumors. And Leo hates rumors more than anything. So, ignoring everyone's warnings, he decides to learn about the cute and intimidating boy himself. Seth Evans has run with the wrong crowd for a long time, and until recently, he never had any reason to get straight. Not until he met Leo Bennett - a cute and courageous boy with dark blue hair, and the only person who isn't scared of him. Leo doesn't want him to change for anyone else, only for himself. What starts as curiosity turns into something deeper than either of them expects. As rumors spread, lines are crossed, and the future inches closer, Leo and Seth find themselves choosing each other in a world that keeps trying to pull them apart. *This originated as a short story in my book Short Stories (BxB) if you'd like to read the original!

Max Corrigan doesn't consider himself lucky. He never won anything the few times he'd purchased scratch-offs. He's never gotten his coffee paid for by the person in front of him in a chain of 'paying it forward.' And he's certainly never had any luck with dating. All Zach Freeman knows is football. He lives, eats, and breaths the sport and, like all the greats, he is incredibly superstitious. Before having his heart broken, he had a plethora of rituals that had to be performed in order to win. Now the team is on a losing streak with no end in sight. When Zach realizes, through a series of undeniable coincidences, that Max very well could be the answer to his team's misfortune the whole time, he insists Max stick around until the end of the season--just until their coach comes back and they get back on the road to success. With the excitement of winning and a blossoming friendship, on comes much more than college parties and celebratory dances. Zach tends to push his luck and Max thinks it's just the luck of the draw.
