Green is such a magnificent color. Not just a color but a sentiment. Disease, it is as if it plagues his insides. Envious sickness makes his intestines turn grey and prune with resentment. But, jealousy came with the want to have.
To have, to consume it whole, whether it be so tasteless. Even better, eating it made him want more, to yearn for some flavor. He wanted the bitterness to flow through his veins, turning him into something new with each bite. He needed to be something fresh, someones alibi. He didn't need that guilt anymore. Couldn't afford it. The type of guilt that rang in his ears, clogged in his brain like swimming in a swamp he couldn't draw himself out from.
Green was power. It leaked through his scales and pores like a pipe, but there was a clog. Too extensive. His body was pumped with green, green he couldn't control, green he didn't want. Green he never desired. It was always too much. Too much for him, his people.
His people were gone. You would think being green made you indestructible but... his green was destruction that didn't destroy but failed. He failed. His green was too strong to fight the blazes of fire, that it hid inside of him. The green, the covetousness, the strength. It hid. Scared of its own doing.
But don't be a fool, green never leaves. It can be suppressed, it can be fought, it can even be hated, but in order to do any of those things, it must return. Green will always make a return.
