Yumeko laughed softly. "Okay, fine. First-your school's not exactly obscure. I've seen your videos. You can actually lead. Not many women can, not at the level it takes to win. And I don't just want to show up-I want to go far."
"You want to win."
"I want to be good," Yumeko corrected. "Winning's a bonus. But I want to earn the space I take up."
That answer landed. Kira felt it somewhere lower in her chest.
Yumeko went on, still smiling, but now with a touch more mischief. "And, I mean... I'm five-two. You really want to see me trying to spin a head taller pro around the floor?"
