Blak is a boy in a universe just like ours, but DNA is unstable. It's extremely easy to taint your DNA, and become gifted with a superhuman ability. Blak was born with his DNA disordered, like his mother, and like any other story, he has to learn how to control while protecting himself and others from the people who want his kind dead. Blak only thinks logically; it's hard for him to put emotion into anything because he's been taught to be emotionless since he can remember. Jeremy, the secondary protagonist and Blak's best friend recently obtained powers via phone call, but what he's become is much larger than the boys will ever understand. He has to learn how to control his powers and his new entire being alongside his friend. With, of course, the antagonist interfering with their training and life. (this story comes a little bit after Ruby is Deeper, they're in the same universe but this series shows more of the extreme part of having abilities as Cecilia's story shows more of internal conflict with having the powers)

All Beck wanted was to take his first vacation alone with his girlfriend of nearly three years. No nagging parents, no interruptions, nothing. Things didn't last a day. A freak accident at a science museum leaves Beck hospitalized. He should be dead, but is not only injury-less... but has somehow walked away discovering he has obtained electrical superpowers. Beck never wanted to become a superhero. He's never wanted fame, money, or even praise. He just wanted to settle down and continue life with his girlfriend. She's the only person who knows of his powers, and it's bonding them closer than ever before. For Beck, it might just mean starting the next step of their lives together, even if it's super early. What's in the way? His overbearing mother, his girlfriend's aggressive father, and his own paranoia of being discovered. Could he really continue to live a private life if another's life was at stake?
