A scream in the night pulls the narrator from sleep, drawing them to the window where only a lone fox watches the empty darkness. But when a second scream erupts-closer, sharper, impossibly near-they step outside to investigate and find a set of footprints that shouldn't exist. Before they can react, something cold and powerful drags them down into darkness. They jolt awake, convinced it was only a nightmare... until they see the same footprints waiting outside their window. Now trapped between dream and reality, they're left wondering what really happened in the night-and what followed them back into the waking world.
