His Siren

I didn't catch her to kill her. I caught her to keep her.

They told me the siren was a monster. A bloodthirsty nightmare that took everything from me twenty-three years ago. So, I did what any sane man would do. I hunted her. I harpooned her. I dragged her out of the salt water and into my world.

Now, she's in my house.

She lives in a drained swimming pool, dry, cold, and entirely mine. To the scientists, she's a specimen. To the world, she's a myth. But to me? She's my wife. I put a ring on her finger and a hook in her life, and I'm never letting go.
