Held at the Forest's Edge

In a kingdom built of stone and silence, a prince waits to inherit a throne that has never truly been his.

Beyond the castle walls lies the West Wood, a place of old magic and older fear, where the forest folk live by seasons instead of laws, and a woman marked as a witch walks unafraid beneath the trees. She is not what the court believes her to be. But belief, in this kingdom, has always been more dangerous than truth.

When their lives brush against one another, neither gives a name. In the woods, names are power. In the castle, they are weapons.

As whispers of treachery coil through the court and a crown begins to feel less like a promise and more like a threat, the prince must decide what kind of ruler he is willing to become, and what he is willing to lose. Between duty and desire, blood and belonging, the forest waits.

Because some magic is not taught.
Some love is not permitted.
And some thrones are claimed only by walking away.

This is massively a work in progress but I want to get it out there so it has the chance to be as good as possible.
