Let's pretend Ruby never realized her sister was really her. Let's pretend said sister actually disappeared. Let's also assume Ruby never stopped hating Peril. Last, Scarlet didn't die. Ruby didn't challenge her. Actually, she's still in that dungeon. Done? Perfect. Read on.

Born with FIRE in her SCALES. Got it now? Great. She's a monster. She kills. Peril doesn't want to be a monster any more. In fact, the only two things she want is Clay and Ruby's trust. Clay probably doesn't like her back because, quoting the firescales, "I killed too many dragons before I realized I was even alive..".

Ruby is the new unofficial queen of the Skywings. Unofficial because one, she didn't kill Scarlet, and two, Scarlet isn't dead. Just trapped. Her first move as queen was banning Peril from the palace forever. How sad, except that Peril kind of deserved it.
