Lydia Foyet - The Reaper's Daughter

Lydia Foyet is sixteen years old and lives under the shadow of her parents' crimes. Her father, George Foyet, is a notorious serial killer known as the Boston Reaper, while her mother, Tatum Salazar, is rarely discussed despite having a violent history of her own.

Tatum met George during a one night stand when she was twenty-one and he was twenty-five. Their brief encounter resulted in Lydia's birth, but the two never formed a relationship. Although Tatum knew George had a dangerous side, she didn't realize he was a serial killer. Behind her innocent façade, Tatum was manipulative and willing to kill anyone who threatened her.

For Lydia's first years, Tatum raised her while secretly abusing her emotionally and physically. When Tatum's boyfriend, Francis Williams, discovered the abuse, she murdered him to keep him silent. Shortly afterward, Tatum uncovered George's identity as the Reaper after finding his mask. Fearing exposure, George killed her and gained full custody of Lydia when she was three years old.

Growing up with her father was complicated. After experiencing abuse from her mother, Lydia found George surprisingly attentive and protective despite his dark nature. He provided for her, enrolled her in private school, and remained a consistent presence in her life, even as they frequently moved from place to place.

By sixteen, Lydia understands that her father survived a traumatic past, though he never speaks about it. She has spent most of her life surrounded by secrets, carrying the burden of being the daughter of two killers while trying to build an identity of her own. George was adamant that Lydia never be mentioned publicly, even insisting that Roy Colson keep her out of his book.
