Sir Gabriel vawdrey did not care for the pomp and pageantry of the tourney's, his only goal was to compete, claim his reward, and move on. But when the king announces that the reward for the victor of the kingdom's largest tournament of the year, will receive "a treasure that none can match" he jumps at the opportunity. Unbeknownst to him, the prize is none other than the king's ailing niece, Eden Montmayne. Eden has lived in isolation all her life, locked away and out of sight, high up in her tower. She has only her lady's maid and a passel of picking and prodding nurses to keep her company. She knows nothing of the outside world, thought to be too feeble and sickly to venture past her chamber walls. So when she hears that the king plans to dump her off on a well known knight, she doesn't know what to think.
