Lennard likes rules, routines, and the kind of silence that keeps everything in place. Thijs is the opposite - quick with a joke, quicker with a decision, always moving like stopping would mean losing something. A summer on duty throws them together: training drills, late shifts, and the strange intimacy of work that can turn serious in a second.

A closeness grows in the in-between: after training, under fluorescent station lights, in the silence that follows a call. It feels harmless, almost simple - until it starts asking for things they're not ready to give.
