Charlie was a normal 15 year old girl, except the fact that she was gay. Her dad got married to a woman who absolutely hates Charlie. Well, so does everyone else. Her school is full of homophobes, making a new bruise each day. Life is living hell, until Charlie meets Sasha. Charlie loves Sasha, until she works up enough courage to come out, but then her parents kick her out of her own home, and the couple find themselves fighting against the rest of the world. A few days later, Charlie manages to find her sister and best friend, who moved out after Charlie's mom died to New York. But the Big Apple isn't as warm hearted as Charlie expected.
