Under the red || A Kirishima story

Kirishima was well know for being mr sunshine all throughout of UA. No matter the situation, there was always a sharp, toothy smile coming from the red haired boy.
It came as a surprise to everyone when the happiest boy in the year befriended the grumpiest boy in the school who snarled and cursed at anyone who dare get too close, but with a smile like his people accepted it quickly.

What they don't realise is what hides underneath the surface.

Despite kirishimas' efforts at convincing people that Bakugo wasn't as bad as he perceived himself to be, everyone turned a blind eye.
They only see what is on the surface, what they're presented with.

They don't consider what is festering beneath it.

The fear, anger, trauma is all hidden behind his shark like smile.
And kirishima intends to keep it that way.

Beneath the red are roots of black which hold memories that Eijiro refuses to hold onto.
Before entering UA, kirishimas family fell apart. With a narcissistic father and a depressed mother, Eijiro learnt how to care for himself... which he didn't do too well. In the heat of his parent's divorce he was stolen away, not found until 8 months later. From then, hospital visits were regular, unbeknownst to anyone outside his family and a certain underground hero. Through support, and the meeting of a new friend, kirishima makes his way through the entrance exams! Everything goes well till he finds himself in bandages after a secret mission and a fight with Rappa.
That's when he knew hiding the roots would be much harder than he had anticipated.

Soon you find that under the red is just more red.
