Calayia is a centuries old dragon who, though she found her mates decades ago, realized they hated each other too intensely to ever see eye to eye.

Irian Odric Diamondearth is a half elf-half dwarf, former adventurer who hung up his axe and shield after the decades of fighting, excitement, and battles began to take its toll on his body and soul. Now he tends to his gardens and orchards using his green thumb, and sometimes offering healing with his magical herbs.

Sir Raevi Elbereth is a half elf knight employed by the representative council of Culasia, who once sought to bring Diamondearth to justice. Tasked with rescuing beleaguered townspeople, investigating outlaw rings, and responding to whatever calamities plagues his land, he suspects Diamondearth is involved in his old mischief, pardon or no.

But as their lives become more dangerous, they are thrown together again and again, forcing them to come to terms with their animosities and distrust. When towns begin to be decimated by an unseen force, whispers of a malevolent dragon put them all in danger.
