"I still remember the first time I realized I was different." He continued. "I was walking out of a coffee shop and I saw a teenage girl get hit by a car. It freaked me out, but still, I dropped my mocha, ran out to the street and caught her, bringing her to the sidewalk as the car sped away.
"As I held her in my bare hands, bearing the sight of blood soaking over my coffee stained shirt, my vision flashed white. Suddenly I could see all these pieces of memories flooding into my brain, not mine--but hers. The memories seemed recent.
"I dropped by the hospital to check on the girl every day until she woke up from her coma. She didn't remember anything from the past year, but I did. I remembered her last report card, the emotions of her breakup from her 8-month relationship, even her first party and the guilt she carried from sneaking out of the house to do so." He swept the back of his hand across the bottom of his nose. "I asked her about it, but she couldn't remember. I had stripped her memory. And from that day on, I called myself Amnesia."
