In the not so far future, a special type of computer is invented. However, this computer isn't like others. It doesn't require a monitor, no mouse, no tower to operate. The only thing this computer needs, is your brain. This computer is a microchip called the Atomiton, a device that acts as a personal computer inside your head, allowing you to work on projects, search the internet, monitor your heart rate, and even play video games. These games belong to the genre of games dubbed VR (Virtual Reality).
In the year 2060, a college emerges in the north eastern region of Iceland. This is the Global Educational Online Virtual Reality University (GEOVRU for short). It is easily the most expensive college in the world, costing $73, 456 for rooming and services, not counting to plane ticket over.
Nine years later, a high school senior, dubbed Caedes by the online world, has recently claimed victory in a VRMMORPG championship called Forman Online. Sadly, the boy spent so much time in the game, that his school grades dropped to a C average, and he wasn't accepted into any college. But when he receives a message directly from the headmaster of GEOVRU, his entire life is changed

Jobs, hobbies, lifestyles-the world has advanced to a point where nothing can be separated from VR anymore. And now, a VR game was released using the most cutting-edge technologies; its name was "Boot Hour, Shoot Curse." Our protagonist had no choice but to play solo during the closed beta test, but once the game officially launched, she made lots of friends (but not necessarily the player's friends), formed a huge clan (but not a clan of players), and matured as an individual. The title of this story was just completely random, at first. In the middle of writing the story, the title finally became relevant. While coming up with the story, the game's name was also random. There was no wordplay involved. But just remember: Curiosity killed the cat~ The star of this story does whatever she wants and treats all other players simply as sources of experience points.
