Crickets chirped mindlessly around me, a hot summer breeze lashing my cheeks. Twisting my dark raspberry pink waves into a bun, my friends hollered something about s'mores. Bushes rustled behind me, a chill running up my spine. Darting my copper eyes in that direction, a strange scarlet dyed the full moon. Screams shattered my moment of paralyzation, branches snapping with every footfall towards our campsite.
Shredded bodies littered the dried leaves, marshmallows rolling into the puddles of ruby. Every breath shortened, a set of claws ramming through my chest. Choking on an obscene amount of blood, a pair of slender hands prevented me from getting cut down further. A flash of navy energy blinded me, coagulated blood and guts rained down on me. Fangs pierced my neck, trees tripling in front me.
"Don't worry, my dear. You will be safe with me." A deep male voice assured me, his words fading in and out. "Rest up." Exhaustion weighed my eyelids down, a rough darkness swallowing me whole.
