At 9 years old, Kai was living in Japan, sleeping in a ditch because his parents abandoned him. He's witnessed things that stained his eyes and he's gone through things that leave a life-changing impact on such a young kid.

8 years later, Kai's adopted. A kind family, loving family but he's still stuck. Stuck with the memories of 𝘩𝘪𝘴 hands on Kai's body.

At the start of junior year, Kai has no one. No one he can talk to freely without fudging, without pity.

But meeting Nicolas might have just been the best thing that could have happened to him. But Kai's scared. He's too scared to let people in because the more you let in, the more it hurts when they walk out.
