Harry had at least one thing before Hogwarts that helped him deal with the Dursleys, the girl who wasn't actually his sister but he would think of as nothing less than family. They had both lost their parents, survived Voldermort and went to Hogwarts togethe. There's never been a secret between them but the Chamber of Secrets opening back up in only their second year might cause a drift.
