Although this is labelled as sci-fi, I wouldn't call it a sci-fi novel. Yes, it is set in the future. Yes, an integral part of the story is technology. However, I have tried to write my story so that anyone would enjoy reading it. The main focous is the characters, and how they interact with each other. So try not to be put off by the sci-fi label, and enjoy!

Anyway here is a brief introduction to my story...

Our world is ever increasing in connectivity. We can instant message people at the other side of the world. We can have a video chat from England to Australia, from USA to Japan. Wherever we travel, our emails, our phones, our facebook accounts know where we are. Technology is becoming more and more convenient.

Sometime in our future comes a point where the technology of the world is so connected, so intergrated, the mundane tasks of day to day life will be completed for us. Our road, rail, and air networks will be controlled by Artificial Intelligence. Our Home Computers will know when the carpet needs vacuuming. Our Cars will safely take us places without us driving. When the World Technology System has replaced all the useful things that humans do, humans will no longer be needed.

Machines rise up and attempt to rid the earth of the ineffecient and wasteful humans only to be thwarted by their creators, but destroying the Earth in the process. The grand cities that were built have been deserted. Organised humanity has broken down into small clans.

It is in one of these clans, Tanika, that our heroine resides. Only a teenager, the fate of mankind rests on her shoulders. Can she get past her own fears and trials? Can she save the planet without losing herself? Can she co-operate with an AI, the very type of machine that destroyed her home? Only time will tell...

#9 in UTOPIA 3/3/19 I couldn't take my eyes off of Dean as he stared at the glimmering stars in the night sky. "I believe the story of our lives is already written in the stars. Our destiny is already given to us. The end of our lives will always end the same, no matter what we try to do to change it." I watched a strand of his blond hair fall over his ear. "What does that mean?" "It means that if you are the person who is destined to take the two parts of this country and bring them together, then it will happen one way or another." His heterochromia eyes found mine and I found myself entranced by them. "And Mel, by the looks of things right now, I'd say your story has started and you are already working towards your destiny." ** One country. Two nations. After the country split in two, the nations renamed themselves the Ameliorates and the Extricates. The Ameliorates live in a community full of stability and order. Melody Sharpe is the daughter of the Ameliorates' leaders. All her life she was told that the Extricates lived in a place full of chaos and destruction. What happens when she finds herself questioning everything she had once been taught? What does she do when she meets Dean Martin--the son of the Extricate leaders--who tells her that everything she knows is a lie? Why did the Extricates really split away from the Ameliorates? Why do the Extricates fear the Ameliorates more than anything else? Are the Extricates really the "bad" side? Melody starts asking questions--something she isn't supposed to do--and it might just lead her into the middle of a war.

A dystopian young adult novel involving romance, secret experiments on human subjects, and a group of teenagers' will to survive. Reader Comments: "I'm gonna gush about your book real quick...all the technology has a purpose and is beautifully explained so I can picture it in my mind...the whole concept of the book is completely original...*moment of silence for your beautiful arch of character development* everything your characters do is strictly them but they develop enough to show more about themselves without you straight up telling the reader about them" -Vairl9023 "Ahh!!! This is so good!! I will be anxiously awaiting the next Chapter!!" -CrystalBagot "Brilliant...ohh, this is very catchy, good work" -IndeeMaynard "I love this so far" -BrianneMorris "You've done a great job at creating a mysterious mood" -poisonedpen *** All Evita Creedy, 17, wants is to finish her degree and be accepted for a prestigious job with the city's Department of Energy. # I will stop publishing my story on wattpad because I'm worried about plagiarism. The world has been destroyed. All that remains is the Ark, and inside it, humans are oppressed by the Eldritch. On the outside, only death awaits thanks to heat so scorching it burns you alive, and cold so chilling, it freezes your retinas in under half a minute. Erin Watts is a 15-year-old human living in the slums of Designated Area No.6. He attends the prestigious Arlington School of Servitude and wants nothing more than having a bright future. Unfortunately, things aren't going his way as of late. His mother, a syred human, is sick and about to die. When she bites the dust, her protection from being syred to an Eldritch master will die with her, leaving Erin unprotected. His school is also starting to suspect he might not come from a wealthy background. And, to top it all off, his Eldritch neighbor wants to rape him and torture him to death. Could it get any worse for him? What can Erin do? How far will he go before he breaks down? Can he beat the system? Find out in this story about oppression, desperation, violence, and a pair of crazy girls. Disclaimer: The girls in this story are not the cliche mindless and submissive Daisies you find around Wattpad. If you are into that, then don't let the door hit you and leave. It also won't have your cliche yanderes.
