So eventually she gave up and moved to another state to work a new job and get another degree."

Serenity Claire is lonely, and couldn't work up the courage to make friends for the life of her. She hated how boring life was, and that there was no end to work or sports or school or forced awkward social interaction. She made a friend, but what did it matter if it was only one? No family or significant other gets pretty lonely at some point, and some point passed her by years ago.

So please excuse her and her desperation. But sometimes we try too hard to keep what was always ours.
