Bruises

A coming of age short story that explores a post-colonial small town which held prejudice against those deemed "different". Kyle was the best footy player on his team, yet despite his skills his teammates cannot see past the colour of his skin and the history it holds. The narrative follows Timothy's perspective, a young boy in the middle of it all, disillusioned to the unjust treatment towards his teammate.
