Gorta (Working Title)

In January 1848, shepherd Séamus Ó Corbáin decides to leave County Clare to seek work on a merchant ship, leaving his brother, sister, wife, and children behind. But nobody could have predicted that the greatest storms would shake their rural village, not Séamus's vessel.

This is an epic of three siblings working to survive An Gorta Mór, the Great Hunger, a manufactured famine compounded by potato blight.
