On the sprawling starship Earthseeker, humanity has become something new. The Ciberians-cybernetically enhanced, engineered for perfection-have left behind the messiness of old Earth, building a society where equality is programmed, pleasure is optimised, and every flaw can be fixed.

Nova is the only one of her kind: purely human, with nothing but quick hands and a stubborn heart to keep her from being discovered. Oh, and a best friend with scales and a tail.

All she wants is to keep her head down, fix what's broken, and maybe smuggle a few clay ducks into Bellamay's room.

But when a routine maintenance job exposes Nova's secret to the whole ship-and to the untouched world below called Eden-she's forced to question everything she knows about survival, loyalty, and what it means to be human.

As Nova and Bellamay get swept up in Eden's mysteries and Earthseeker's politics, they'll have to decide where their real home lies: among the perfect stars, or with the wild and unpredictable earth below.
