A decade after the last Bridgerton child had been married, a series of rather uneventful social seasons had come and gone. Many young ladies married and gentlemen avoidant of such commitment caused a drought of gossip among the ton.

That is until the Earl of Blackmore arrived back in England from America, his four beautiful daughters in tow. While only his eldest, Esme, was old enough to be out in society, her mere presence took the ton by storm. Her immense beauty and intelligence, as well as the intrigue of her foreign upbringing, made her one of the desirable of the season. Many Mamas and their daughters looked on with envy, while the pressure made her want to slink back into the shadows. Which is hard to do when she catches the eye of a young Duke.
