Emerald & Steel

Can be read as a standalone. This is the third story in the Lavender Series, but it is more like a spinoff with none of the same characters. The first chapter is the same scene as the beginning of Lavendar & Ice, the first book in the series, but from Kyle Logan's point of view.

Following the catastrophic end to his ship, the Phoenix, Logan finds himself and some others from his crew as prisoners on a ship full of an unknown alien race with shimmery copper skin, emerald eyes, and attitudes tough as steel. The ship captain is the most resilient and hard headed female Logan has ever come across.
When a new threat arises, can Logan and the captain get past their language barrier and mistrust to save both of their crews?

The first half of the book is more about the adventure, the romance is a slow build.
