I got inspo for this from the song Lilith by Saint Avangeline, I'll add a picture of the lyrics I was inspired by but they are also within the first chapter. 

Lester Kalling is a sailor. His entire life he has loved adventure and the sea was his calling. That was until his wife, his partner in crime, died in a tragic accident that pushed him away from his passion of sailing.
