The water stopped first.

Sirens screamed until they didn't. Screens went black. The sky turned the wrong color. And somewhere in the distance, the world began to burn.

She did not wait for answers.

She grabbed her rifle.

Clipped a leash to her dog.And started walking.

Every road leads through fear.

Every shadow feels like a threat.

Every day asks the same question: how far will you go to stay alive?

The person she used to be would not survive what's coming.

So she keeps moving.

South.

Toward a rumor. Toward hope. Toward something that might not even exist.
