Princess Lorraine of Sunderland led most of her life in banishment. Abandoned by her cruel and bloodthirsty father, she lived in genteel poverty with her mother, who was once a graceful queen. But when she was restored to her station after her mother's death, she had only one thing left in her. Rage. And it was that rage that made her queen.

King Nathaniel of Berkonguard was known for his roguish ways as much as his devastating good looks. Pressure was mounting on him to marry and quickly produce an heir. Only Nathaniel didn't want to deal with a wife and all the perils of love. When his ministers brought him the match of Queen Lorraine, the usurper of Sunderland, he realized two things.
