Hana felt her pulse thrum in her chest as Jaden stepped closer, the dim light of the room casting shadows across his sharp features. His eyes locked onto hers, piercing, unrelenting, as if he were looking straight into her thoughts.

"Look into my eyes, darling," he murmured, his voice low and smooth, brushing over her like a velvet threat. "You, Hana... are worth every single thing. Even if it means taking another's life."
She swallowed, forcing her hands to remain steady, refusing to let the tremor in her chest betray her. His gaze sharpened, searching hers, testing. "I'm not very patient. Will you let me?"
Hana's lips pressed into a thin line. Her mind screamed caution, yet a flicker of curiosity dared her to meet his challenge. She wouldn't let him see her fear-not fully. She wouldn't give him that.
But with an invitation to the most dangerous party of the year and a coded warning from a missing friend, Hana barely realises that she is running out of time.
