Maddy moved to university determined to reinvent herself.

New friends. New opportunities. Zero emotional baggage. Which would've been going great... if emotional baggage was the kind of thing you could simply leave behind and never think about again.

Between film classes, chaotic nights with her friends Erin, Jade, and Noah, and an unhealthy reliance on takeaway food, Maddy is finally building a life she actually enjoys.

Then civilisation ends.

Suddenly lectures are cancelled (silver lining), cities are collapsing (less ideal), and people are turning into violent infected nightmares (very inconvenient). Now Maddy and her friends must navigate a world where survival matters more than deadlines and group projects have been replaced with staying alive.

But while outrunning the end of the world is stressful enough, Maddy is starting to realise that some things are harder to escape than global disaster.

Like her past. Which, much like the apocalypse, is determined to catch up with her eventually.
