Sabine Moreau has three rules: be on time, follow protocol, and keep your distance. Leon S. Kennedy breaks the first one before his shift even begins.

The start of their partnership is anything but smooth. Sabine is cold, unpredictable, and unimpressed by the golden-boy rookie assigned as her partner but their awkward tour of Raccoon City is cut short when the radio goes silent and the streets erupt in blood. Forced to rely on one another as the city falls, the walls between them shatter. In the corridors of the R.P.D., Leon discovers Sabine's mystery is a shield for a dark past, and Sabine realizes Leon's heart might be the only safe place left in a dying world.

But Raccoon City was only the prologue.

As the years bleed by and global bio-terror consumes the world, the nightmare evolves. And so do they. The idealistic rookie hardens into an elite, world-weary government agent, while Sabine is pulled into the deepest, darkest shadows of the Umbrella Corporation.

Decades after the world ended, the lines between monster and savior have blurred. When their paths inevitably collide, they will have to discover if the connection forged in the ashes of Raccoon City can survive the strangers they are today.
