Beyond the Silver Veil

Growing up behind the veil, we learn 3 things first: Never leave the veil, respect the elders, be kind to nature and others. Simple rules that even the littles don't have trouble following.
Our home is an oasis. No one leaves and no one comes in. We don't have to question authority we just live. It's perfect.

Until it wasn't .

Until the secrets couldn't be held any longer.

Uriah: I want to leave. Not forever, just for a little while. What I wouldn't give to experience the human world. My parents tell me it's a silly dream and that I'll get over it. But, like, I'm 19 and haven't gotten over it. It's fine, I'll just stay trapped here...forever. It's not all bad. I have amazing friends and sometimes family. I love my job and the fae. But I can't help but feel trapped.

Nikko: God, he's going to be the death of himself. No one seems to see it but me, but Uriah is 2 seconds away from making a run for it. I wish I knew why; wish I understood him. Unlike everyone else, he keeps me at arm's length. It's fine though, being the warrior I am I can take it. I'll protect the fae from the outside threats and Uriah from his own curiosity.
