Once the dominant species in the world, most people in the present day believe the dragons to be long extinct, lost to the demands of a war that has long since been left to the history books. When the last dragons are raised to merely a shadow of their former glory, blood will rain from the sky, and the highest towers will glow red, like so many candles.
