Contract Marriage - When Pretense become real (MaNan FF)

PROLOGUE

"How could you do this?"

His voice wasn't loud... yet it pierced straight through her heart.

"I- I am really sorry..." her voice trembled. "Mujhe s- sach mein nahi pata tha ki... ki meri ek jhooti baat itna bada nuksaan kar degi..."

Before she could finish, he closed the distance between them in long, angry strides. His hands gripped her shoulders harshly as he yanked her towards himself.

"You dimwit!" he snapped, his eyes burning with rage. "You didn't know?"
A bitter laugh escaped him. "Wow. What a perfect excuse to escape the mess you created."

"Main bahane nahi bana rahi..." she whispered, wincing as his grip tightened, pain seeping into her skin. "I really am sorry..."

"Oh, forget it."
He shoved her away and turned his face aside. "Your sorry won't change anything. It won't bring back what I've lost. It won't... fix anything."

"I know sorry isn't enough," she said, stepping in front of him again, desperation lacing her words. "Aur mujhe pata hai meri galti maaf ke layak nahi hai... but I'm ready to take full responsibility. I'll do anything you ask me to."

His lips curved into a cold, cruel smile.

"You'll do whatever I say anyway," he replied darkly.
"Chahe tumhe pasand ho ya na ho... because tumhare paas koi option nahi hai. No choice."

Without another glance, he walked away, leaving her shattered behind.

"Ayyappa..." she whispered, looking up at the sky as tears streamed down her face.
"Yeh mein kaha phas gayi hoon..."
