Ironically, he had a Vid-Con panel with some friends that day. He often turned down the possibility that it might be one of them, and he assumed that it would be some random event. Possibly a phone call, or someone wandering on stage. He didn't really understand how the clock worked, all he knew was that the second your clock hits zero, you would kiss your soulmate. You can't control it. They may be in a completely different country, but your brain makes you fly there. Nothing gets in the way. Mark looked down at his wrist. He couldn't help but wonder who his soulmate might be, all he knew was that he'll be with them in 6 days, 4 hours, 30 minutes, and 5 seconds. ~~~~~ Hey! So this is the clock soulmate au, but with a twist. When the clock hits zero, they'll kiss their soulmate.
