Ten or so years ago, for reasons unknown, the keepers who rule Solhala decided to kill all of the adults excluding themselves in an event called the wave. Now the children only as old as twenty seven are the working force of a peaceful community with no crime. Or rather, almost no crime seeing as how Kalila keeps finding herself in trouble. So with her record as being the most renowned criminal, and the sentry always at her back,  a keeper in training named Jagger Brady is assigned to her and has to find out what makes her tick.
