Princess Constance knows heroes; she's met ninety-nine of them. Every single one has treated her poorly before riding off to fight the evil sorcerer at her father's behest. Every single one has disappeared.
It isn't any comfort to her, though. Another hero always rises to take the last one's place, and she's getting tired of their lingering hands and possessive stares. But no one would help her in the palace. No one will listen.
When the hundredth hero crosses a line that shouldn't have been crossed, Constance makes up her mind: she can no longer bear being the damsel, so she'll become the villain.
And who better to teach her than the solitary sorcerer himself?

This is my entry for the Open Novella Contest 2026, based on prompt 45: «Kings have honor, soldiers are brave, poets have heart, and all I have is rage!» - sound by Naethan Apollo.
It's a pretty rough first draft, with minimal editing. I can promise decent grammar, but you might still stumble upon some inconsistencies and plot holes.
(!) This story deals with themes of sexual harassment and assault, though it should never go into great detail. Still, just to be safe, I marked it as mature.
