The Enclave calls her an asset. The wasteland calls her a bounty. She calls herself a survivor. After escaping a classified mutation program designed to create the perfect weapon, she's spent months hiding the power burning beneath her skin-a power they refined through pain, death and resurrection until it obeyed. Almost. When a retrieval team corners her in a dying town, she's forced to reveal what they made her. Unfortunately, the only witness is the last man she should trust. A notorious Ghoul bounty hunter who now knows exactly how valuable she is. He could turn her in for more caps than he's ever seen. Instead, he offers a deal. Forced into an uneasy alliance, they navigate Enclave kill squads, bounty hunters hungry for a payout, and a wasteland that's starting to whisper their names together. She doesn't fear him. He doesn't flinch from what she's become. But the Enclave wants her returned alive. And the longer they travel together, the more dangerous it becomes - not because of the power inside her... ...but because she's starting to realize she was never meant to belong to anyone. And he's starting to believe it too.

Tucker and his lawyers left the conference room and walked toward the elevator doors. As the elevator doors opened, four men in business suits exited with determination ignoring Tucker and the lawyers who were forced to clear a path for the men. The four walked deliberately and oddly in step toward the conference room. Tucker did a quick count, these four plus the three in the conference room looked more like a military unit than business men. As the elevator doors began to close, Tucker saw the four disappear into the conference room and wondered exactly who this Dragonetti family was and how AEM Enterprises had grown so quietly powerful. For a moment the hardened investment banker felt sorry for whomever it was referenced in that note. His mind pondered the meaning behind those four little words: "The Mikaelsons have fallen."
