After Seventeen Years The crowd roared, lights flashing like stars, but Emily barely noticed any of it. She was there because her friend dragged her to the concert - not because she cared who was performing. At least, that's what she told herself. Then the stage lights dimmed, and a single spotlight cut through the darkness. A familiar voice filled the air - smooth, soulful, and achingly nostalgic. Her heart stopped. There he was. The boy she used to share secrets with under summer skies. The one who promised to never forget her. Now a man, standing on stage, singing words that seemed meant only for her. When their eyes met across the crowd, the noise faded away. It was just the two of them - seventeen years of silence melting into one electrifying heartbeat. He froze for a split second, his lips curling into a soft, disbelieving smile before he continued singing... but this time, every lyric was drenched in emotion. And Emily knew - no matter how much time had passed, no matter how different their worlds had become - that feeling had never really gone away. The music swelled. The lights shimmered. And somewhere in the middle of that song, love found its way back to them.
