At Tommen College, everyone knows who Anthony Joseph Lynch is. Rugby prodigy. Hurling captain. Tattooed heartbreaker. The golden son of a legacy no one dares cross. And everyone knows who Alanna Holland is. Dealer's daughter. Diner girl. The pretty girl with the too-sweet smile and the wrong last name. She runs from her father's reputation. He runs from the weight of his own. Alanna survives on caffeine, forced smiles, and secrets she refuses to let anyone touch. She starves herself of food, of sleep, of truth. She tells everyone she's fine - even when her hands shake and her mind disappears from her own body. AJ thrives on chaos. He fights on the pitch, inks skin in the shop, works engines in the garage, and pretends the noise in his head is just part of who he is. He hates attention. Hates the whispers. Hates that no one sees past the temper and the tattoos. He decides tormenting her will be fun. She decides hating him will be easy. It isn't. Because when the grumpy golden boy starts walking her home from the rough end of town... When he learns how to ground her during dissociating spirals... When she's the only one who can calm his manic edges... Hate becomes something softer. Something terrifying. But Tommen doesn't forgive bloodlines. She thinks she's a burden. He thinks she's the only thing that's ever felt real. And loving each other might cost them everything.

Valeria didn't rush. She never did. Inez was pinned beneath her, wrist locked overhead, the hold precise and impersonal. Not pain. Control. Inez scoffed anyway. "That's it?" she sneered. "I've had tutors scarier than you." Valeria said nothing. The silence pressed in. "You don't scare me," Inez added, louder. Brattier. "You just-" "Enough." One word. Flat. Final. Valeria lifted Inez's chin with two fingers, detached as a correction. "Look at me," she said coolly. "If you're going to embarrass yourself, do it properly." Inez laughed, brittle. "You think this makes you powerful?" "I don't think," Valeria replied. "I decide." Her gaze never wavered. "You provoke because it's the last control you have." "I don't belong to you," Inez snapped. Valeria leaned in, voice razor-thin. "You are my wife. You belong to consequences." She released her grip. "Say it." "No." Valeria waited. The quiet broke Inez, she hated being ignored. "...I'll behave, I'll be a good girl" Inez muttered. "Specify." Inez swallowed hard. "...I'll be your good girl" Valeria stepped back, already distant. "Good," she said. "Remember why." #1 older women-13th February (FAST PACE BOOK)
