Romance
Aarohi had always believed that nights carried memories. Not the kind you remember willingly, but the kind that linger in the air, heavy and patient, waiting for you to notice them. She returned to Devgarh after six years. The town hadn't changed. Same narrow roads, same flickering streetlights, same silence that grew louder after sunset. Even the house stood exactly the way she left it, paint peeling near the windows, the wooden gate still creaking like it was tired of opening itself. Her room smelled like dust and old rain. That first night, sleep didn't come easily. The clock on her wall ticked too loudly, as if counting something more than time. At 2:00 a.m., she sat up, suddenly aware of a strange pull, an urge to look outside. The street was empty. And yet... she felt watched. Not threatened. Not afraid. Just noticed. Somewhere far away, a train horn echoed through the night. Aarohi didn't know it yet,but this was the first night the town remembered her. And someone else did too.
