Another Tragic Romance by Lester After a fire destroys her family, she is thrust into a life she never wanted - married to a man she barely knows, in a world where power rules over love. He is cold. Ruthless. Dangerous. And yet, she finds herself drawn to him. But some houses hide more than smoke. Some men hide more than shadows. When secrets begin to surface, she must decide: Stay and risk everything... or run and leave the life she's slowly begun to feel for him behind. In a story of trust, betrayal, and survival, one question remains: How do you choose love when it might be the thing that destroys you?

A voice asked. "You'll catch a cold, why didn't you take your jacket?" I spun around, and my eyes locked with Marcus's eyes. "Hey," I said, my voice a little trembling from the cold, and I wrapped my arms across my chest, my shoulders stiffening. I had not expected that it would be so cold. My fingers dug into my sleeves, and I shifted my weight from one foot to the other, trying not to shiver too obviously. Marcus didn't answer right away. He just looked at me for a second, then stepped forward. Silently, he slid off his jacket and placed it over my shoulders, and I ensnared it tighter around me immediately. It was still warm from his body. The inside smelled... citrusy?
