Before Y/N Shinonome become a part of Nightcord at 25 member and a third-year student at Kamiyama High School, she was still a junior high school student. Y/N and her brother, Akito Shinonome, were moved to another country, they were both foreign exchange students, they both stay in school dormitory.
Y/N was introduced to her new classmates by her new teacher, the teacher was told she will sit next to a boy named Helen Otis. She see Helen draw in his sketchbook, she can hear the whispers from her new classmates about Helen which sounds negative to her. During the school break, she went to the art club after eating, she then encountered Helen who is still drawing again.
